Spanish Clubhouse
Spanish Clubhouse is an extracurricular program offered after school for KCH Primary students. You can choose to enroll your child in Spanish Clubhouse sessions held in the fall, winter and spring. Children are immersed in the Spanish language during a 30-minute, multi-age class designed for beginners or continuing students. Each class promotes conversational skills with relevant, theme-related vocabulary. Students enjoy puppets, instruments, games, songs, and books to enable language acquisition. Children go home with a craft project that reinforces the day’s lesson.
Musikgarten
A music and movement program developed to build attention and self-expression, activities include singing, chanting, moving, focused listening, musical games, exploring musical instruments, creative movement and storytelling. Once a week in all age level programs, our Head of School Kerry, teaches Musikgarten classes that focus on nurturing the child’s ability to use language and participate in dramatic play within a musical context. She also plays the violin with the children and teaches them about rhythm and listening with a musical ear. This program is included in your tuition at KCH.
Children’s Yoga
At KCH, the children participate in bi-weekly yoga classes to center and calm their bodies through songs, breathing techniques, and playful yoga postures! Laurie has incorporated mindfulness and yoga into her work with young children as a trained Montessori Teacher.
She is passionate about helping children find peace within themselves and the world around them! Laurie recently completed her 200 Hour Registered Yoga Certification here in Kirkwood and has since been leading adults and children in a gentle, safe, and loving atmosphere!
